Architected and led all aspects of the backend platform development for the recently launched Smithsonian Channel Plus service: watch.smithsonianchannel.com. The backend platform powers the service on web, Roku, Android and iOS.

Designed and developed a full service video processing engine which powers Movies Anywhere as well as other Disney business units.
2014 – 2015
Responsibilities include design and development of backend services in both Java and NodeJS. Key projects include the development of fraud protection service, customer migration from other providers and video encoding pipeline.
2013 – 2014
Responsibilities include design and implementation of database solutions within a MySQL clustered environment, writing REST services, automating batch processes using Spring Batch, providing messaging solutions using AMQP (RabbitMQ) and generally developing infrastructure-level services.
Owned the development of the middle tier for the new mobile disney store m.disneystore.com. Responsibilities include the design and development of the web application using Spring Framework/Spring MVC & J2EE, JSP development, integration with a WebSphere based commerce backend, cart integration, guided navigation catalog backend (Oracle Endeca) integration and security of the application.
Designed and developed an online web application used by the company in the review process of all assets produced by their designers. The system is used internally by all designers, art directors, web developers, producers and account managers, as well as by external clients on the lot. I built the system from the ground up both on the front end using JSP/Tiles & jQuery and backend using the Spring stack, hibernate & MySQL.
